First Baptist Forsyth is looking for a new Senior Pastor. The Search Team is no longer accepting resumes, as of May 18.
Qualifications and Job Description
1. Master of Divinity minimum (SBC schools given preference.); doctorate preferred.
2. 10 years fulltime ministry experience (5 years as Senior Pastor).
3. Agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000 revision).
4. Meets all basic qualifications set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and 1 Peter 5:1-3.
5. Gifted in sermon preparation, leadership and administrative capabilities, while devoted to personal Bible study and prayer.

1. Serves as President of the Church and shall act as moderator of the Church.
2. Ex Officio member of every standing committee, ministry team, and special ministry team.
3. Will equip, educate, and edify the church as mandated in Ephesians 4:11-13.
4. Responsible for proclaiming the Gospel, teaching the Bible, engaging in pastoral care ministry, and providing oversight of all areas of church life and staff.
5. Participate in the planning of worship services and events, while equipping staff and lay leaders to successfully coordinate such events.
6. Provide biblical counsel, as well as conducting weddings and funeral services.
7. Oversee staff development as well as performing annual performance evaluations for all staff.
8. Cooperate with associational, state, and denominational leaders in support of Southern Baptist missions and the Cooperative Program.
