Dear Illuminate Students and Parents,
My name is Jonathan Atkins and I lead the Wednesday evening Illuminate programs. This is my third year leading this program and I am excited what God has in store for us all. We also have a great group of volunteer leaders that aid in pouring into your kiddos, they include Kendra and Hayden Crouch and Mrs. Samantha Youngblood. I am beyond thankful for the opportunity to serve with them all.
I wanted to take the time and welcome you to a new school year. I hope that your school year has started off well. Whether you are learning from home or going to school, this year has been and will look very different. I want you to know that you all are prayed over   daily. My prayer is that you not only grow in your learning at school, but also with your relationship with Christ.
I also want to personally invite you to Illuminate. We would love to see your smiling    faces on Wednesday evenings during the school year. We meet at the church from 6:00-7:30 every Wednesday evening starting September 1st (if Forsyth School is not meeting in person, we will move to doing Illuminate virtually so keep an eye out for any updates). Please join us for a time of fellowship, fun, and most of all the chance to build on your biblical foundation and your walk with Christ.
Know that we don’t take the fact that you’ve entrusted us with helping shape your child’s worldview lightly and are honored to work with each of your children.
Jonathan Atkins

Illuminate Ministry

Illuminate is our preteen ministry at First Baptist. It is for students who are in 5th and 6th grade. It is a transitional ministry between our Children's Ministry and 412 Students. On Sundays Illuminate meets in The Underground and uses The Gospel Project for Students.  On Wednesday nights, Illuminate meets in the Fellowship Hall and uses the Forge curriculum for middle schoolers.  Wednesday night gatherings consist of large group teaching, discussion time in small groups, and other activities.
Illuminate will have several service projects and fellowships throughout the year. They attend CentriKid Camps during the summer.
The goal of Illuminate is to reach, equip, and disciple students and families to understand not just the “what” but also the “why” of the gospel and its implications in the life of every believer (godly character, healthy relationships, love for others, prayer and Bible study, living on mission).
